I'm in a dilemma ,help please

Re:

I'm 6' 8" and find a 21" Cube 29er a nice fit, good amount of room and nice and comfortable.
Bizarrely enough there's a ready stock of 21's at my LBS, I was toying with getting a 23" but the 21" is far better now I've ridden it.

If going new Trek go up to 24" in there lower end models, Specialized and a few others do 23" and many will do 22" although a modern 20" frame with say a 24" top tube and a long seat post will work fine. I too am 6'6" and have collected a large haul of big frames, maybe I shouldn't hoard them. In fact if you'd like a big and reasonable quality frame to get started in this retro thing I have a couple of frames I could part with cheaply, just give me a pm and I'll tell you what I have.
I had a Massif in the past, its easy to transfer a lot of stuff onto, I did but it was a bit of a pig iron special.

I've found a trek 7.1 fx for sale for £145 second hand it's a 25inch frame and looks in good nick . Is this bike components better or about the same as the ridgeback rapide velocity . Do u think its a good price . Or do I wait until I find or save up for new a 23" specialized hardrock 29er ?
