I'm on about my other big obsession of old cars. You see, like some of you lot, I am in to the whole period correct build thang! For instance my 64 vw has period correct wheels and I have accessorised the car with period goodies, including German only og items like maps, an early sixties German camera, car mats, German coins in the ash tray, Cigarettes and even my workshop manuals are the original German ones. The list goes on and on.
Do any others on here go to such lengths to stay 'period' with any of their hobbies?

I've also had It's original Frankfurt reg plates made up for it,as it spent the first forty years in Germany. The maps are the correct ones for the Franfurt area too.
My 1974 VW is now going through the same thing, ready for it's volksworld show debut. this car is a RHD car registered in Plymouth so I have allready collected some bits and pieces including a 1974 NOS map of cornwall and devon.

What about creating an Old-Timers Republic and proclaiming independance? We could get John Major as PM and get our embarrassing cycling clothes out of the closet, watch X-Files on tv and listen to REM when they were the biggest band on the planet, would not join the eurozone and drink Cherry Coke...
