Illuminate me.. torch/bike light help, please.

Cheers for the help peeps. Like the look of the eBay lights but, think I'm gonna go for the Fenix - either the LD20 or PD30 :?

Just out of interest how would these stack up against a Hope Vision1  This was also on my shortlist.

Ebay lights FTW. Just buy several sets!
Buy cheap, buy twice...
Fenix are quality torches. Go LD20- if you're touring, or out in the sticks, everywhere will sell AA batteries. Try recharging your Lumoflash6000SUX and you'll be rogered!

Do LD20 & PD30 torches take the same type of battery?

I tried the bargain ebay lights. They don't really 'cut the mustard' ( that will confuse our euro / us brethren) when riding off road. Found I was always holding back due to the narrow beam they emit.
How about the DX ones?

i second that, the DX ones are awesome for the price.

I use two DX ones. Had them over a year now with no trouble at all. After using them I just could not justify spending £200+ on lights.

I ride with friends that have spent £££ and they're all rather miffed when they learn how much my (comparably bright) lights cost.

Ld20 take AA. PD 30 take CR123A batts- more expensive, wierd charger, and shorter run time.
I'd check out the PD31 though. It uses the 18650 battery, which seems to have longer run time and over 300 lumens...

Interesting - battery availability / hassle is something I'm very keen to avoid..

But what's this PD31 you mention?
