I went to see a Nimrod land today

ooooh! Lockheed SR-71.

I was really into aircraft when I was a nipper. I still love going to see planes, civil and military. I really love Russian aircraft,there's something of a will it, won't it ,feel about watching them fly. Even tu 134 and 154's always had that "that's not gonna get up" kind of vibe!

I do get misty eyed about seeing 70's stuff like 707's DC-8 + 10's Tri-Stars and stuff like Caravelles and Viscounts and even Tridents for heavens sake!!

A drag racer friend went down to South Africa a few years back for a flight in a Lightning for his 40th. He loved it so much he paid twice and flew again later that week.

awesome... I would love that so much. That truely is a rare experience. The lightening pictured once pitched at Mach 1.5 30 degrees up and broke 80000 ft, amazing. SA was a recent Lightning accident wasn't there.. Think they are grounded now :cry:
