I want something, but I'm not sure what...

I'm looking for a steel frame or bike, high quality tubing, for fast, lightweight touring and/or audax style rides. Ideally with cantis, so maybe a cross type frame? 55 to 56cm if straight top tube. It's got to be responsive, light and fun, and I don't mind how new or old it is.

As an example of what I'm looking for I used to own a Holdsworth in 531c with just enough room for mudguards. I had Argos add canti bosses and rack mounts, and it was pretty much perfect- 20 years on I still regret selling it but times were hard.

If anyone's got anything they think might fit the bill, or can suggest a frame or bike, even new, I'd appreciate hearing about it- I'm having trouble finding anything at all. Otherwise methinks a custom made frame might have to be ordered :shock:

I have a nice reynolds 531 frame set with 531 chromed forks in ok condition
But i do have another fork (Dawes)with canti brake mounts
No canti brake mounts on rear
Have a look,see what you think
As i say it's quite nice
Even comes with seat post/headset and bottom bracket

Ellis Briggs 631 55cm

Hi Ben

I have got an Ellis Briggs 631 frame which is 55cm centre to top and the top tube is 55cm c to c, in is in fantastic condition comes with canti mounts twin watter bottle cage mounts and mudguard and rear rack mounts. I want £250 or £400 for the complele bike with a different saddle and pedals. And without the rack; saddle bag and lamp bracket mounts.

Í have a nice Gazelle cyclecross bike, seattube 56 cm c-t.
it is equipped with Campagnolo NR derailleurs
Nice condition but some signs of use.
Typical cyclecross components: Mavic cantilever brakes, bar end shifters
typical cable connection.
