After the ‘have I been done’ post, this time it’s certain I have been done.
My Wicked Fat arrived with CQP cranks in ‘alright’ visual condition. Then I rode it... and they wobbled.
NDS has been over tightened, a washer put on the bolt to allow it to be tightened over the end of the spindle, then when that got too sloppy, a piece of shim steel (steel... why not an aluminum coke can....? Oh why...?) and now the NDS is officially buggered.
Drive side however, that’s alright.
What to do? Some of the value of the bike was in the parts - those cranks being a significant chunk. I’m trying to chase the seller on eBay to give me a partial refund but I don’t see much happening. To recoup some of the outlay, is the DS crank worth selling? If so, any ideas on value? Do I just bing them as a pair on eBay with lots of words and pictures to make sure I don’t ‘do’ someone as I was ‘done’ myself? I’m about 150 quid down on my plans to buy / sell / swap my way into the build I’m looking to end up with by my sums.
Any advice on value appreciated!
