Now, as for him being 'fat' I'm not so sure about that if you see him close up. He'll come good this season, needs to if he's in shop window. And as for SAF being 'red nose' most 70 year olds tend to have a few broken blood vessels; even my old grandad who was teetotal for the last 20 years of his life. But then, we never let the truth get in the way of anything do we?

Oh yeah Mr Brocklander... How is Mr Grimsdale these days? Still a wealthy man no doubt. Now that really was how to run a football club

That a little bite there buddy?  Pretty sure 'he who shall not be mentioned' will be sat on pots of cash deciding which club to ruin next. Beats me why your lot seem to be copying his business model! :?

Oh, and fergiscum has a red nose 'cos he drinks too much red wine.

So a person who kicks an air filled sack up and down a field (when not moaning about a minor injury of some sort or another) is worth £65m

In the same week that its announced 500,000 public sector jobs will be cut, we get this announcement and press coverage over 1 man, it sickens me. A senior Nurse in the NHS can expect to take home £25k per year. The same amount that was paid for Mr Rooney's allegiance could fund 2600 Nurses for a year. I know which I would prefer to see.

Way to fix the economy?... sack the over paid losers on the football fields and have the companies that "invest" in them invest in social enterprises that show real returns instead.

Couldn't agree more!

On and off the pitch English football is a rollercoaster ride as big as Dynasty or Dallas

Up here in Scotland, footballs still of serious interest but more like a step or two beyond Sunday league

Good luck Portsmouth but if you vanish someone else will get the fans attention. Dont give up if your team fails, swallow your pride and follow another. Keep being a supporter
