I dont appear to have a Football club anymore...

Don't worry, there's another club just down the road you can support instead. Nice new ground too

Dont know if anyones seen, but Portsmouth Football club is on the brink of liquidation.
I know this is a bit of a divider between you guys as some dont like the game but Im a bit of a fan and Im in the process of watching my club go down the pan.
Its not much fun watching the sporadic reports from Sky Sports about breakdowns of talks with the crooked owner while they also report how Wayne Rooney has signed a £150m deal to continue with Man U.
It goes to show you, there is money in Football, the wrong money.

Sorry for the rant....

Being a Leeds fan I fear your pain. I'm sure you'll survive though, just like we did

As for the Scummers..... Giving a contract that size to a spud head in the worst form of his life.... Think you've got problems tbh. All the best players due to retire and the ones coming through not good enough. Has Rooney just pinched all the money available for future transfers? I think he'll be gone before long anyway as old red nose tends to hold grudges.

Im hoping you mean Brighton? they're on great form right now but they are missing Bobby Zamora.

I have every sympathy with you, your team, the employees and every other fan of them. However as a 20 year ST holder lifelong red who lives 10 minutes from the ground I can assure you that the debt at Manchester United is every bit as scary. £750m is a huge amount and could prove to be the end here. You can be assured that the Glazers are public enemy no 1 around here

As for Mr Rooney, he's only taken what any greedy footballer would take; just the other side of town from me at the Boo Camp, a man called Tevez 'earns' £200k a week and Ya Ya Toure £220k a week.... It's how it is I'm afraid.

Now, as for him being 'fat' I'm not so sure about that if you see him close up. He'll come good this season, needs to if he's in shop window. And as for SAF being 'red nose' most 70 year olds tend to have a few broken blood vessels; even my old grandad who was teetotal for the last 20 years of his life. But then, we never let the truth get in the way of anything do we?

Oh yeah Mr Brocklander... How is Mr Grimsdale these days? Still a wealthy man no doubt. Now that really was how to run a football club

.

Glad to see the back off them to be honest :D been batting above their weight for a while now :D :D :D
Can you tell i'm a Saints supporter
I could never figure out how it was ok for them to only have a 17,000 seater stadium when the minimum number of seats to be a premiership club was a lot higher :?
Pop down the road to St Marys, the way they are going at the mo they should be giving the tickets away  :D :D :D

They're just a business like any other.
There to make money.

Business's start up, some close.

If rooney is good enough be it kicking, screaming or bitching to make the company money then why not give him that. Just a tool to make the company more money, hopefully.

I didn't take up my season ticket this year, not as a result of the way the Glazers are ru(i)ning the club but after seeing Rooney drunk, smoking and urinating in the street. Is this the player to set an example to our youth? What do you think the likes of Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs make of this, let alone Sir Bobby!!
If you don't mind paying for this kind of human being to wear a United shirt, then thats up to you.
He disgusts me. I was at Old Trafford for his debut, and have always bought into the 'boy from the street, who just wants to play football' theory on him. It just proves that you can take the boy out of Liverpoool....
I hope he's hounded out of the club and suffers a career ending injury (while citeh are paying him £250k a week!).

Bloody hell, this is a cycling forum and I need to calm down

I agree wholeheartedly with this.
Big money from companies like Sky,Contracts negotiated by greedy and pompous agents who make tens of thousands for themselves.

I dont like or even support football, but i can see straight through this charade
