I once got so 'effed off with a 500LX rear mech, I threw it as far as I could - it ended in someones garden many, many yards away. Didnt have the money to replace it so went without riding for ages

I did whang my rear wheel into a large tree in my back garden in October on the night before the Autumn Epic due to problems with fitting a new inner tube without pinching it. Surprising both how easy it is to throw a (road) wheel and how satisfying it felt. Satisfaction changed to shame when I had to climb the tree to retrieve the wheel while being watched by my neighbour's 4 and 6 year old children. Well built wheel though, stayed perfectly true.

Better not mention the abuse I've meted out to my tennis rackets though, could be here for some time.
