Humanity's 10 greatest inventions: the other 9?

Surely we all know the bicycle is an incredible thing. In the Sunday Times poll (for new year edition y2k) of the greatest inventions of the 20th century, the bike polled 30% of the vote - streets ahead of anything else.

What else would you include?

I'm not sure Antibiotics count as an invention - more of a discovery, although Vaccination could get in there? (or 5G😉)

I'm putting Plywood up on stage😍
I am reinforced in my view polls mean nothing. If we legitimately stick to the 20th then surely the big bomb needs a mention?

Great as in very large?
You could argue that the big bomb gave us 70 years of peace, but now it's looking like it enables a state of war and oppression without end.

Tea bags !

Controversial!

Worst invention of all time for me. Even if you think the deterrent qualities are to be lauded said deterrent is built on threats of Megadeath. How can you celebrate something that would end civilisation in 30 minutes?

Oh I don't know. The sort of species that is happy to build a weapon that can wipe out civilisation in 30 minutes, plus every living thing with it and render the planet uninhabitable for millennia is hardly the sort of species worth respecting and wanting to protect.

To hell with humans. When breakfast cereals need a helpline, it's time to tear down society and let the ants take over.
