How to read a KLEIN framenumber

Hi all,

Maybe there is some thread about this already but I couldn't find it. Heck, maybe it would even be a good idea to have a general "what does my frame serial mean" thread?

Anywayz, I was looking at the number on the dropout of my KLEIN Attitude and it reads: BAT501. Now I guess the AT will be for Attitude, but that still leaves me with the B and 501 meaning something too?

Anyone know how to read this? Likewise my Rascal had R101 only, so the R will be for Rascal but what does the 101 mean then? I know it's from 1991, so maybe week 10 of 1991? (Intel used week/year numbers on their CPUs as well). And because my Attitude has 501, that could mean week 50 of 1991?

Anyone know more about this? Help is greatly appreciated... thanx!

Well, the early frame numbers are quite non-informative, but I've understood that they state the model and what's the running number of that frame (=how many frame have been built). Like the Rain Forest Adroit's serial is ADT000351. So I think it could mean: Adroit, 351st frame made.
Not really sure though, Carsten may rectify this.

The later ones are a little bit easier, although the exact calculation method of the running number is a little uncertainity for me.
19X11920206 = 19", Adroit, made in Nov 1992, 206th frame made (from the year's start or from the month's start ??)
19T0593785 = 19", Attitude, made in May 1993, 785th frame made.
etc. etc.
T = Attitude
X = Adroit
V = Adept
P = Pulse
R = Rascal
Q = Quantum
I don't know the codes for Pinnacle, Kirsten, Performance, etc.
