Realised the list of bikes in my profile is getting quite large but want to leave the ones with a build link. Seen some of you have this info in a smaller font. How do I do that? :oops:

You might want to embed your build thread links too, so that this:

How do you replace the links with a pic as others do...?

Show me that and I'll be really impressed!!

Cheers,

For this:

Try something like this:

Code:
[url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=110721][img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/PeaksBanner.jpg[/img][/url]

Or if you're feeling a little more ambitious:

BANNER-97Zaskar.gif

was created by doing this:

Code:
[url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52175][img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/BANNER-91Karakoram.gif[/img][/url] [url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=94175][img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/BANNER-91Sahara.gif[/img][/url] [url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74514][img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/BANNER-92KiliRacer.gif[/img][/url] [url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=113457][img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/BANNER-92Traverse.gif[/img][/url] [url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=89756][img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/BANNER-92DynaTech.gif[/img][/url] [url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=66632][img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/BANNER-93Saracen.gif[/img][/url] [url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=78084][img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/BANNER-94Marin.gif[/img][/url] [img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/BANNER-97Zaskar.gif[/img] [url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=64301][img]http://www.drystonepaul.com/Retrobike/BANNER-97Bravado.gif[/img][/url]

Paul,

A quick question - I see in the html example you posted above, for the thumbnails of your bikes, you listed a "www.drystonepaul......." link, does that mean if I wanted to do the same, I'd need my own website? Or is it a direct link to the pics here, on RB?? :oops:

Hello Steve, how's the shoulder?

The images I've used have been uploaded to my website just because it's convenient for me, hence the address. You don't need your own website just somewhere to host your pictures like photobucket or imageshack for example.

You can use images from any website as long as you get the full address for it.
So for example, I found this perennial favourite of retrobikers everywhere by searching on google:

02-17_Kitty.jpg

The URL code for this fluffy kitten looks like this:

Code:
http://www.georgehernandez.com/h/aaBlog/2005/media/02-17_Kitty.jpg

to embed the image of the fluffy kitten use the 'img' html tags:

Code:
[img]http://www.georgehernandez.com/h/aaBlog/2005/media/02-17_Kitty.jpg[/img]

and then put all that into 'url' tags around the fluffy kitten:

Code:
[url][img]http://www.georgehernandez.com/h/aaBlog/2005/media/02-17_Kitty.jpg[/img][/url]

then specify the link for the fluffy kitten:

Code:
[url=http://www.findakitten.co.uk][img]http://www.georgehernandez.com/h/aaBlog/2005/media/02-17_Kitty.jpg[/img][/url]

which creates this embedded and linked image of a fluffy kitten:

I don't like fluffy kittens.
