So I've got this rather tatty 1999 Trek 8000SL frame that I want to build up. However I'm thinking semi-retro, is there such a thing?
Looking at what I would need to make it original, I could be at it all year and could spend a fortune.
Is it done to make the bike intrinsically retro i.e correct travel forks and V brakes?
This thing will have Mars Elites, LX equipment including STIs, those odd Shimano wheels with hardly any spokes, but the contact points will all be modern.
Or do I simply not give a hoot
