How many bearings in a pedal?

I now have 3 pair of these:

2 pairs have 16 bearings and one pair has 12 ... :?

I assume these are pretty much the same as these:

http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.aspx? ... &AbsPos=45

These are listed as having 5/32nd bearings ... how many of these are there in a SR pedal?

Not sure of the exact number but pedals with titanium spindles had more, smaller bearings.

SR & 50th pedals have Ti spindles ...

Ok that is a bit odd, maybe someone did a mod on the pedal with fewer bearings?
