they did stainless steel axles too i believe, hence silver...
Absolutely- THREE axles avalable, crro-mo, and Ti initially, later stainless.
The stainless is a Ferritic stainless so it actually magnetic. A magnet will tell you if its Ti or stainless.

thank you for that confirmation 8)

I've not seen the Stainless steel personally, are there CNC machining marks on it ? The Ti one's do. (more just for info)

Anyways, first picture in my first post shows the Wellgo cleat (and type you need) and I guess has the ring around the part that needs filing away.
It also shows the Shimano and Onza cleat to compare it to.

i now have 4 pairs of these 3 cro mo 1 ti this thread has been helpful. Any advice on removing old parts to fit new parts would be good. :D

Some old stuff should be allowed to die. These pedals are a prime example :-)

A lot of people think these are crap pedals... but personally i have never had any issues with them !!
i can click in and click out no problem they have loads of float and even more if you turn the cleats around. they look cool and are proper retro!!
ive got loads of spare parts for them various elastomers etc and you can pick them up cheap....
you just need a bit of skill to use them
"old stuff should not be allowed to die" :D

I had no problem with these BITD were the last pedal i had. Till the bike was nicked. Little did the thief know that the pedals were worth more then the whole bike.
magicmistertea have pm you.

I used Onza pedals BITD, infact one of the pictures - the one with the pedals and cleats together - is one of mine. Yes, they were OK but as soon as I switched to Shimano style SPD's I was amazed at the difference. The Onza release was very sketchy, sometimes they did and others when you really needed to they didn't. Stuck with Shimano ever since.

To have a one sided opinion without even having tried other options is a bit juvenial IMHO

i always liked the onza pedals
okay the shimano ones were better out the box ,but with a bit of tweeking
the onzas were just as good

wellgo cleats were the ones we used bitd ,chamfered the edges with a die
grinder (dremel in todays speak) to make the in/out bit easier

they were quite light too if i remember right and oillite bushes in them
might look out for another pair

not sure who you are talking to... but personally i have used loads of clipless pedals.. including look/onza/shimano/atacs and egg beaters
im not saying they are the best ... but with a bit of skill ! ....like putting pressure on both pedals at the same time to release.... i have had no problem with them....... at the end of the day they are simple mechanical devices.... there isnt really much that can go wrong with them.... if you cant unclip its because you arnt moving your feet properly. granted other pedals might be easier to use....... but if you know how to use them then onza hos are brilliant. so i wouldnt call it one sided.
At the end of the day ....Its all down to user skill either you have got it or you havnt
regards (onza fanboy)
