How do I measure my steerer tube? 19" Orange clockwork

Hi

I'm a new member on here and need a little help to get going

I have a 94 clockwork with Quadra 21r's fitted

The sponge foam elastomers finally disintegrated and I bought a new set from suspension fork parts but they're rubbish the forks just bottom out as soon as you sit on the bike.

So I've decided a set of Judy SL's are what is required

So I need a 1" threaded fork crown and steerer to start with then I'll have a lot more forks to choose from on ebay because at the moment the number of 1" steerer judys on there are exactly 0

I've measured from the bottom of the head tube to the top of the threads on the headset and that measures 106mm on my 19" orange.

Am I measuring from the right place?

Thank you Mr Luxury-Yacht :)

It's ok I think I've bagged one

1" with 170mm of lovely thread so that's more than enough.

When I asked the seller how much to ship it to Stockport he asked

"What country is Stockport in?"

Uh Oh I thought, this is gunna cost

He's sending it for £30 INCLUDING postage from Canada!!

Great forum, I think I'm going to like it here, my local bike shop just laughed at me when I made enquiries.

Even suggested that it might be time for a new bike

A NEW BIKE!!??
