Hope C2 bleed kit

Cheers Matt,
Obviously, this is the first time I've owned/bled C2's... and they are 2nd hand, so i can't be 100% sure everything is ok with them..
Where do you get your lever seal kits from? Easy job to do?

pro lever seal kits should still be available from hope so your local bike shop should be able to get them for you, normally cost about £12-13

easy job....depends if you've done it before and have circlip pliers or not.
its a bit fiddly and messy but fairly straight forward, you just disassemble the main piston, replace the rubber seals, the re-assemble and bleed. There are exploded diagrams on the hope website.

calipers aren't too bad to do either, there's a small rubber seal between the caliper halves, and the pistons unscrew and pop out easily enough, just a rubber seal on each piston.

Once you get the hang of it you can dismantle a rebuild a complete set F+R, calipers and levers in about an hour.

Matt

Ok great.. just looked on chain reaction and they've got the lever kits for 8.99.. out of stock though at the mo..
Thanks for your help.

Pro levers.. as I say, the system is sealed, no leaks anywhere..
Do I need a new top cap seal each time I bleed the brakes then?.. I've cleaned it up and seated it properly, looks ok to me..

I've looked at the caliper and it is ever so slightly out, so thanks for that.. I think some Hope shims are in order now..

I have had another go at them and they do seem a lot better, thanks for the advice. :)
If there history is unknown it is a good idea to spend a fiver or less on new seals. It's a simple (but sometimes frustrating) job really, and C2's really do go on for just about ever! If the top cap seal is worn (you can't see it) twiddling the adjuster will have no effect and they will fill spongy.
