Settled down to an instal on a new Stanton ti build - tech4 with e4 front (203mm) and v2 rear (180).

Meticulous prep of braided hoses - nice clean cut - flare opening with a straight pick - perfect. Quick assemble and bleed on front - clean pistons with silicon grease whilst getting air from behind pistons - comes up nicely solid with that lovely Hope modulation.

Rear hose through frame - fiddle fiddle - but all good.

Start bleed - nothing. Nothing coming through hose, tap hoses, nothing moving, incline bike, pump pump, nothing. Grrr. Failed Tech4 seal? Nope. Try pushing a bit of fluid using syringe - takes a bit then nothing. Bout 50 mins in now … grrrr …. Sit and think. Sit and look up stuff on web. Now 90 mins in. Pump pump nothing. Lever moving easily and clearly just compressing…air. Ok will need step by step dismantle…

I focus on rear caliper, pulling off the banjo. Found it! Big lump of nasty green and white aluminium corrosion jammed in banjo, completely blocked movement of fluid. Caliper was stored wet for about a year. Big clean up of banjo - wire poking, brush brushing, isopropyl squirting. All shiny all good.

Then - easy and simple bleed - in fact with tech 4 you can just pump continuously without ‘open, pump, close’ routine. Ease pistons in and out a few times, silicon grease on, lovely Unior piston tool to get them back in, pump pump lovely solid feel - all good.

Lesson learned…..
