Dear all retrofans,
Since I've been diagnosed with retrothytis
at the start of 2012, the same time when my first son arrived, I thought I'm going to build him a bike which will serve him well in the 2020s & later on, (assuming he will be roughly the same size, as his father is, I mean height-wise) both as a wayback machine and a proper means of transport. Big words, I know, but I can be quite sentimental at times, I admit.
So I was on the secondhand market for something neglected, in need of serious TLC, but dependable for not much of my hard-earned, which would be spent during the restoration process anyway.
When a Hooger-Booger Comp XT popped up for about 70 GBP, I was totally unsuspecting, but I had bought it, having waited (and being fed up) already for months to find something worth rescuing in my price bracket. At first I practically knew nothing about the brand or the model, but slowly I gathered enough information to decide, it was worth the effort.
The bike was in a rather sorry state, but nothing was serious or terminal, only it looked the „dog’s dinner”. Here are a few pictures, (if I can upload them) as I bought it via post.
