Holdsworth Cyclone: help please

SimonTanner

Retro Newbie
I've had to clear out my dad's house following his passing away. When I was clearing out his garden shed I found a Holdsworth Cyclone. I think it must have belonged to my Uncle, who lived with my parents for a while before he died.

The bike is very rusty but I think could be restored. I think the serial number is 11838, which I think would date it around 1951?

Does anyone have any information or advice or can put me in touch with any collectors please who could give this classic a good home??

The best home for the bike............is you :) even if at the moment you don't think you need it, it's part of the family.

My family think that the bikes I have are worth a "tank full of petrol" which is what I have told them, what they don't know is that they might be worth a "tanker full of petrol".

Please don't sell it to a charletan who will stick it on e-bay for a kings ransom.

Pics would be nice :D

The number would suggest this age.

Pics, please! You should use an image hosting service and hotlink the pictures here.

I agree with that
and you don't kick out of the family home a member even if crippled
I would even say, if it is in bad health, then your duty is to take care of it and rejuvenate it.

About the worth, I follow the same lines ( well mine are probably worth 10 tanks of petrol, not a tanker  )
the less they know bout the worth, the best it is, they would not even understand better our "craze" if they knew it can be high

All of the above is good advice...

These bikes are precious in their own right, irrespective of their worth in ££ terms, as they have a story to tell.

And Shaun is right; there are charletans out there.

Put some pics up here and you will find out what you need to know
