(...) Grant Petersen would be pleased 😂

That's gotta count for something. ☺️ I think.

Anyway, both bikes have been signed off by mrs non-fixie and she will be taking them with her to Italy for a bit of cycling. A week or so in the Lago di Garda area with the Gitane and then on to Tuscany for L'Eroica with the Cornelo. 🇮🇹🍷

Mrs non-fixie and I just came back from two weeks of rigorous bicycle testing in Italy. Hard but necessary work.

After loading a quartet of machines into and onto the team vehicle ...

... we proceeded via German Autobahns and Austrian Alpine passes towards the testing grounds near Lago di Garda in Lombardy, where we spent a good few days riding around in mixed weather and terrain:

Simple but nutritious food was kindly provided by the locals. Typical proletarian quinto quarto dishes, such as tripe:

We changed bikes now and then, so we could compare them properly:

The last phase took place in Tuscany, where more people had chosen to test their bikes, like this Japanese team:

Tuscan food was provided by the local peasants, such as bread with porchetta:

All bikes stayed in one piece, so I would like to consider this test a success. The views were a nice bonus:
