This is why I dont get into these discussions too often. I was trained by people with letters after their names and Phds who know far far more than any of us.
Bi amping works regardless of whether the signal is sent through a crossover before the speakers or within the speakers.
The Yamaha will do all the LFE processing regardless of what subwoofer is used. It acts as a crossover sending the correct frequencies to the speakers and to the sub. A case of reading the user manual to get this right.
Most subs have a mono input via the left channel, this will be clearly marked or indicated in the instruction manual.
LGF has spoken. LGF is god (hifi). LGF smells of wee.
