Hi from Australia

Hi there everyone,
Found this site through Google a couple of weeks previous. I'm enjoying the retro MTBking threads which are bringing back some great memories of past classics I've owned.
My current rides are all C'dale Super V's one later Jekyll and a very early Speedwell which you guys might not be familiar with.
This is my highly modified Viper red Super V I've owned since new in 1995. Sachs ergos and drop bars have been on it since then !

Cheers Geoff

Re:

Welcome Geoff,

My dad had an old Speedwell when I was a kid that he rode to work on. I remember him respraying it and putting new decals on, looks like he was into the whole retro thing way before me. I always did like Super Vs, I thought they looked pretty cool.

Re:

Welcome geoff, cannondales are somewhat under-exposed but they did have some tasty frame designs and innovative features like the rear dropouts and headshock forks.

East coast seems to be where the big cities are down there, is there much off-road riding, trails and stuff like you see here in the UK?

Re:

Thanks for the welcome guys,
Hey Marc,

Australia's eastcoast states are huge so there's heaps of MTBking to be had. Couldn't begin where to start explaining but for instance the National Horse trail (up along the Great Dividing Range) runs parrallel to the coast from Nth Queensland down through the Victorian Alps.
haulawayjoe,
Great bike the Speedwell, was considered to be the upmarket cousin to Malvern Star though MS owners don't think so.
Here's mine, going on 60 years now.
