Hi everyone,

Still kinda new on the site, so hello to you all!!

I live up on nw skye and your looking at the newest mountain bike ive ever owned...:D Does that mean im into retro or just a tightwad?

Before the pace I had a couple of early 90's stumpjumpers, one snapped and one got sold. Ive been riding the pace since 1996/7(ish) and its still just about hanging on in there despite being much abused though ive gotta admit the rc35's dont take the hits like they used to ...:(

The pics are from the ride i did on my own last wednesday, 32 miles out and home from kintail to glen affric, all offroad, with a fair bit of carrying the bike up the hill in the first pic. Was a mix of rocky cart tracks and very rough and steep singletrack over the pass. The bothy in the 2nd pics about half way through the ride, nipped inside for a mars bar to get out of the the rain on the way home.

The last pics the climb back out of affric up the cart track to the bothy.

If any of you guys are up here anytime drop me a pm if your up for a ride, theres a few of us getting muddy up here :D

cheers

martin :)

If you own a pace, theres no way you can be described as a tightwad!

Welcome to the site...stunning scenery you have there!

Get your pace frame number added to the official retrobike list (theres a thread in the retromtb chat forum)

Living and working in London it's easy to forget that places like that aren't so far away ....

Well, if anyone fancies a retrobike holiday... theres plenty of space to camp at mine.

Only pain with the ride (apart from hideous saddle sores) was that my brake blocks wore to the metal, so i had to scramble down a lot of the descent in the picture on the way home, its a lot steeper than it looks.
