Hey just found this wrecked GT with odyssey parts, can I save it......? Looks early 2000!

I had been thinking why the rear wheel and brake calipers are different from the front ones?
My conclusion led me to think this rider had smashed the rear wheel and bent the calipers also!
As I feel why would GT stick the silver caliper on the back and have a black one on the front.
This is where I need you guys who know mid school brakes (Dia compe & Diatech)
I've decided to treat the gal to new black calipers, because it's triggering my ocd.
I,m not paying any notice of the front sticker as it contradicts the stamped information 996 990 Honbre?
So what do I need to match the front?
This lead me to the cable attachments which are different from mine as both calipers have the bolt type screw to snag the brake cable.
The newer Hombre types or 990's 996's have the identical hook in types. So what do I go for to match the equipment or just buy the whole new cable with both hook types, but the newer ones have green caps and green pads, which I can deal with, as i'll reuse the parts from the old caliper in black.
Confused, Suggestions please?
Fixed sorted, just bought FS 990 in black at a good price as long as its black I can make this work well! :)

Bit more progress.
The chain I used suited the bike against the black its like gold bronze in colour!
Had a blond moment where the tensioners would tighten up, as I pedaled to test it. But I haven't stuck the stunt pegs with lock nuts to fix the tension of the chain. 😅
The only other issue is, I have little clearance on the brake calipers by the time I set the new ones to the wheel it might be 2cm gap, but I did go big tyres. The brake pads are forward to the max adjustment I think?
Was very tired when doing the mock up.😇
My daughter bought me a bike stand, and I love it much easier than my old black and decker work bench 😍

I've come into a little snag, I converted the front brakes to the rear which wasn't that hard, but as usual I'm not seeing what's wrong, but the spring I'm using which is gold for the right side seems to be higher and the cap doesn't quite cover the whole mounting?
The left side was really easy first time going flush! Do you think I need a different size spring 🤔 ?
Both calipers spring back nicely when pulled via dual cable so functions well just not flush on the right side.
Snag fixed just used a different deeper dust cap, and its now working fine with the spring covered up!:) 🥳

Trick nuts back on, had to de-rust one 14mm nut, but the rear is done now!
Didn't like the SR seat so got a nice deep black swade seat, will mount it soon as.
Just waiting for front calipers and some grips.
Might change the font outer brake cable because of a big kink where it mounts on the fork🤔
