hi, I recently bought this from eBay and am looking to restore it.
It is branded as refurbished by Chas Bland though looks to me like a Peugeot. The forks are 531 peugeot forks & it has a frame number of b71432435 which again suggests Peugeot. The frame has a 653 sticker but is from refurbishment. The dropouts are simplex
I have looked at most images of 87 & 88 high end Peugeots & cannot find anything with similar lugs or rear end esp seat clamp.
The parts it came with are a mish mash so cannot assume anything from that. 600 rear derailleur, 105 front, mavic downtime shifters, campagnolo crank, cinelli bars & stem, mavic wheels (not on bike photos below)
I am looking to restore it in either Chas Bland or alternatively vintage Peugeot if I could identify what it would originally have looked like.
If anyone could help me shed light on it, it would be greatly appreciated.
