Old School Grand Master
So looks like 12mm a-key or bolt assembly
I've no idea, can't yet get the end cap off, the pics are borrowed from the internet. What is the outside diameter of NDS end of axle and the internal width across the flats of Allen key fitting?
If your hub is same as one in pics, I would have thought the NDS end of axle that you can see does not come off as an endcap, it's the end of axle and endcap in one. Therefore no separate endcap.I've no idea, can't yet get the end cap off, the pics are borrowed from the internet.
Do the pics you posted on page 1 have anything to do with the ones you've just posted?I've had a little time today and have made some progress.
The nds end cap should just pull off but it's been very stubborn. Solution: rubber gloves and a spanner on the ds, pulling the nds as I turned the ds. Eventually it came off, revealing the axle and Allen end more clearly.
With no Allen key or bolts that fitted in my bolts tin, I resorted to some mole grips on the nds and unscrewed the ds. No damage done to the axle, so happy days.
With the ds end cap removed I could pull off the XD driver and assess the bearings. Wheel bearings are lovely, freehub bearings not so much so they need replacing.
Here I've found a new challenge. The bearings are held in with a circlip. Easy, I have the tools for that. Wrong. With the circlip sprung into its groove, the holes for the circlip pliers are also partially in the groove so I can't locate the pliers into them. I've faffed for a while and am admitting defeat for today. If anyone has any ideas on how I can get the darned circlip out, I'm all ears.
