Help with PS3

Hi All

Got a niggle with my PS3 and hoping that someone on here can help please, I have it connected to a Panasonic Viera TV, Via a HDMI cable and although the games play perfectly I cannot get the start screen to display at all. What am I doing wrong :?: :?: :?: :?:

Turn off buy holding buttong down till you hear 3 beeps, then turn back on, see if you get the reset menu.
and keep trying each option - except option 2 : reset to default settings - to see if it works.

or just try googleing XMB issues (xmb is the sony menu thingy) to you find someone with symtoms liek yours.

Or you could just chuck it out of the window.

Think it was something to do with the latest update, had to do the same with mine.
