Monobox forks
Yep; they are 1996 RC35 Monobox MXCD forks.
Although they have MXCD transfers[or remnants of!] they dont appear to have the oil damper fitted, i know the damper was available as a retro fit kit[see photo] but i am not sure on the factory fitment details, i.e if it was offered as a choice at time of sale. I have serviced quite a few MXCD's without the damper.
There were three Monobox forks; MXC, MXCD and the downhill[!] version MD. There is a whole mix of differences between them, not just the number of elasto's[the MCX had hard white plastic spacers in the elasto stack], but stanchion and rod length and crown fitting shims varied as did the dropout style and bridge width between the years of production[95 and 96].
MD seems to be the rarest btw.
97 saw the intro of the RC36 MXCD along with the gold stanchion Pro version too; these still used the same plastic damper until the 98 Evo version when an alloy damper was fitted,
Never seen a crown like the one pictured tho' - rocking horse poo i'd say.
Would you like some nice coloured end caps and bricges for it?!!
