Help with bar end gear shifters

thanks again guys, been looking at the jagwire sets on ebay seem to have a good range of colours.

legrandefromage, thats a shame do you think they could all be like that or have you just got a duff set?

been looking at these dia compe shifters but cant make my mind up if they are to new looking

also, why did they fit cantilever brakes? (just been for a spin round the block they certainly stop you well

All this reminds me that somebody (Dia Compe?) used to make bar end converters for normal downtube shifters. Basically it was a pair of bar end shifters without the shifters themselves, you just bolted on a your favourite downtube shift levers and away you went.

Does anybody know if it's still possible to get hold of these?

Picked up some campag ones on ebay, arrived today in pretty good order just need a good clean up think I might mirror polish the body

Another question, would really like to use steel braided outer cable on these, (going for red cable outers on the brakes) is there a stockist in the UK for this?
