help to identify this Avanti bike

just picked up this frame marked up as an Avanti , contacted Avanti in new zealand and they say not 1 of theres . so anybody here help , it looks like a Peugeot from late 80's early 90's even down to frame number stamping etc etc , even has 23.6 isn mm seat post size .

the columbus forks are non original as is all the running gear
