Do remember soviet Ti being used on the M Trax frames, but that was bonded so an entirley diferent reason for any failure

The Raliegh Torus has the same 'cheap looking' rear stays as this frame (this isn't on of them) compared to the more expensive machined one's (works for Steel and Alu though). Where they still using USSR builds for them ?

Is there a serial number ?

Here is the cable stop of a 1995 KHS ti-lite, it looks just like the one on my ride

Thy are the same as the one on my frame, from what i can tell.

Is there any one whit a photo of a 1998 KHS out there?

It's not TST / Sandvik to the best of my knowledge.

It could be a Tomac version of the Tourus that did not have the wishbone stay - but I would guess Russian / Far East. Lot's of small importers in many countries in Continental Europe - Gitane, Wheeler, DBS, Crescent etc. etc. had some Ti in their top-range offerings at the peak of Ti being the wonder material. It may be custom made from a smaller shop, but still sourced from Russia / Far East like Magmaa.

The dropout might look like the torus'

..I'm not really getting any closer, a 1998 KHS catalog might help me on the way

I remember a while back that somewhere was selling a batch of NOS Torus frames through a link on here. It was a good few years back now. HarryCrumb will confirm this as we discussed and considered them. There were several sizes and some had the option of twin or wishbone stays. It seems too coincidental that every other detail about the frames is identical.
I imagine that old link will still be on here somewhere, but I can't remember which section.

I must say they don't look similar to me. The 95 KHS stops have sharp edges, yours have rounded edges. Also your frame doesn't look the same as the Raleigh. Your stops are in a different place, you don't have a canti bridge, and I thought the Torus had wishbone seatstays and the one pictured looks to have that.

I'm not saying your frame isn't a later KHS, I don't know, but it is different from the earlier KHS TiLites.

I still say it would be interesting to compare the dimensions if you feel like measuring it.
