Help Please- To Paint or not to Paint??

Dr S

Old School Grand Master
I would like to tap into the font of wisdom that is Retro bike. I cannot decide what to do with the Frame on my old Cannondale. The paint had got pretty poor and I decided to get it re-coated. I stripped of the paint and then polished a small area, then a bit more etc and now I cannot decide- should I carry on with the polish or get it down the powder coaters as originally planned??

There are lots of new blue ano parts to go on this if it helps the thought process.
Here is the old girl before the resto in its original Slate Grey

And here it is clashed back together with the current mixture of parts (it has to earn its living so I threw on enough stuff to get it ridable again)

What do you think I should do??

Man that black and gold looks fantastic and was the colour of my first dale back in 1990- ah happy days!

I'm not sure if red or green would work with all the blue stuff i have bought ont' Ebay- i could be wrong. What about yellow??

another option would be to have it anodized- what do you think??

i was gonna do an ink blue on yellow 'dale build, then i lost interest. still think it'd look sweet though

Yellow with blue decals would look good and suit the blue anno stuff .

then some blue or yellow cables 8)

Wouldn't bother annodising.

I'll second that.

MMMMM Yellow- will sleep on it, would have to be the right shade. Leaving it bare alloy not a popular option then?? it is much shinier than in the picure- i did a little more today.

Contacted Gil_M about the decals- thanks for the info guys.

Oh bugger it- lets put it to a vote

Yellow ith blue decals or polished alloy??

You decide!(in over the top geordie accent)
