Help please... canti boss issue driving me insane

Cross season is almost here!!! Stoked you figured out the boss stays. It looks like it's working for you! Though that doesn't look very retro... 😂
Not-having-discs is the definition of retro nowdays, and even then, if you look in the mtb section, seems discs are ok as long a your wheels aren't 27.5🤣

True, true. If you think about it though, at least in MTN bikes, disc's have been pretty prevalent since the late 90's-early 2000's. Technically that's vintage territory. It makes me feel old that what was bleeding tech in high school is now considered pedestrian.

As an aside, I recently contacted Cannondale about a super low mileage 2005 R1000 I picked up and the reply back called my bike a "relic". 2005 is the newest aged bikes I own. 😂
It doesn't make them any slower. It's me that makes them slow. And other than the long and low revolution for mtn bikes, the geometry of road/gravel/cross has been figured out since the 1980's. Its just the materials that they're made of and to quote Spinal Tap "but this one goes to 11" or 12 or 13 that have changed. And don't even get me started on internal routing or 1x...

Sorry for grouching out for a moment.

I figured discs and a weird gear setup was, if not properly retro, at least niche enough for this forum ;) . Full bike here if you're interested:

As an aside, my proper road bike is a rim brake Epoca R30 from 2017 and that gets looked at askance at races for being old fashioned now.

Ha! Did they manage to answer your question?

Love the Relic status
Although I would only consider the rider a Relic if they're a couple of times older than your Dale.😉

We were trying to source a replacement fork for a 5 year old s-works - the specialized warranty agent laughed at me and said:
" that fork is three iterations old"
🤯

I'd like to find a Scott Addict in my size. I either find them in 57+cm or 50cm. Or they have been raced. Learned my lesson about raced frames earlier in my life and I don't do that anymore. Luckily that was a steel frame set... And I don't do eBay anymore for bicycle parts unless new in package. So I'm stuck scouring local adverts.

No, Cannondale did not answer my question. Apparently they were bought out(?) in 2008 and they don't have any paperwork or anything prior to that. Dude didn't/couldn't answer my question and called my bike a relic. I had a Big Lebowski The Dude moment of "well, that's just your opinion, man"... I still average 30.5km on it in hilly mountains. So the relic's are still relatively fast.
