Hey folks,

Escaping the crappy festive TV for a few moments of normality!

I need a spiked snow tyre for an experimental build. Cannot be massive width wise as the stays do not have hooge clearance.

Any recommendations/links to suitable tyres?

Merry Christmas and big festive thanks :-)

Cheers,

Mark

Spiked tyres will sell at a premium during the bad weather. Buy them during a heatwave, they will be much cheaper.

planning to buy.

By the time I have made one it would be fair weather again!

plus no suitable donor tyres ...... Well that's the real excuse ........ ;-)

I've been waiting for my Schwalbe Snow Studs for over a month now, the delivery date keep going back (I tried CRC originally then SJS) so best of luck finding some!!

I've been using Schwalbe Ice spiker 2.1s this winter and they're just brilliant! Schwalbe also do a narrow spiked Marathon which is great for commuting. Good luck getting them though, I bought mine in June :D

my girlfriend has the Snow Stud Schwalbe in 700 x 38C flavour and they are indeed excellent for commuting - I borrowed her bike several times over the last few weeks  now, where are mine (26" natch!) :?

The gig with these things is the more studs the better. If theyre spaced out to much it wont grip as well and will slip at slow speeds, and lets face it ,in snow and ice its slow speed only :?

Sithlord has a set of nokian mount&ground with 288 studs per tyre.Drop him a line and ask how he's getting on with them :?
