Help me, Zaskar gurus! :)

Hello!

Just one number: 8960362

What can this mean? :) The 6061 and the size is on the read dropout, but what does this number means? I thought, all Zaskar use the month-year numbers. 1960, 86th month...? :D

Thanks!

Re:

I would hazard a guess you are missing a zero from the start of that serial number. Should be eight digits. Either it is there but faint (is the frame painted?) or it was the work experience boy stamping the frames at GT that day.

I thought for this, and I hope this will be the answer. :) It's polished alu, and just on the way to me. :D

Re: Help me, Zaskar frame number gurus! :)

It probably means it was an August 1996 frame and the serial is missing a 0 at the front.

Re: Help me, Zaskar frame number gurus! :)

Vaaaaa, it's perfect for me!
I've got an M950 XTR set for it, with a few M739 parts...
That was my dream, when I was 17. :) Now I'm 35, I hope, I can make it. :D
What fork do You recommend? I've got a RC Judy XC (creme), and a Marzocchi XC-600(gold) from that era... What do You think?

Re:

Two things that will help age it are :

Does it have a single or 2 bolt rear derailleur hanger ?
and
What shape is the strengthening gusset at the headtube ?

Does it look like this (under top tube)

Or this (below down tube).

Most would say Judy as that's the combination of the era and sounds like what you are aiming for.
