i'm building up an old Cannondale (SM1000 1990) frame that i have bought from a retrobike member on ebay. although it is in REALLY bad shape i sort of fell in love with it. it has a repaired headtube i.e. seemed to have had a crack where the downtube contacted the headtube. i want to use that frame as my "everyday" bike for the city. regarding front suspension i have two options. which one would you go for? please vote :D
  • 1.) Manitou 2 Forks and Ritchey Stem w/o Noodle
2.) Rigid Pepperoni Forks and Flexstem

p.s.: i plan to get the frame a respray once it has proofen its will to survive. until then "no photos" :D

given the history of a crack I would rather run suspension forks so it doesn't take too many big hits

Hello, have the rigid forks with the suspension headset, you will have a choice to switch on and off for either on road or off road, My Cannondale is like that way and I had it for nearly 9 years now and I love that bike, will always keep it, beside that it will look a proper Cannondale bike.

Good luck :D

I'm not sure I would trust a repaired headtube as an everyday bike in either case!
