Oh I see.. Apex.. I'm just having a doubt about the cable insertion since Apex doesn't have one. I'll try to search more and wait for other replies. Thank you..

What size headtube is it? Does it take 1" fork or 1-1/8"? , Also Is that yellow under the red paint an original colour.

Going by the hi tensile steel sticker I would be going lower end, Sorrento/topanga.....

ah, sure, your're right and also the drop-outs of your bike look a bit more old fashioned.
Adding the 89 catalog, some models fit better in terms of drop out, but yours is without rear rag mount eyelets.
The Ascent EX, Sorrento and Curaca have been also available in racing red according spec sheet at the end

I think you have something of a mongrel here. It's got a fillet brazed headtube that from first look seems to be 1.5" rather than 1 1/8". all other joins are welded. the internal cable route looks to be a braze on too. there doesn't seem to be an exit for the internal cable either.

This is the size of the head tube sir... and I think the yellow color is the primer paint.
