Help me I.D. my ghetto Claud...

Cheers for the comments on my Electron rebuild.

The rear derailleur is a Suntour VX with a mid length cage which has a date code from May 1979.

When I had an Electron as a schoolboy in the seventies it was fitted with a simplex rear mech. I remember saving up and buying a Campagnolo derailleur because I was sure it would be faster, but was rather disappointed that it was no better than the Simplex one.

When I found the blue Electron frame, I decided to build it up with good iconic periodish parts.
Suntour had the best shifting rear mechs from this period because of their parallelogram design. When the patent expired in the early eighties Shimano and Campagnolo immediately copied it.

Nice looking restoration.

Judging by the frame it looks almost identical to my early 70's Electron.

Hi, I have a frame set that is identical to yours, apparently, but it's been heavily abused. I'd like to build it up but have not found any catalogs that would indicate the appropriate components. Two favors to ask of you: The serial number on mine is 57789, how does this compare to yours? Second favor: Can you send me a link to better pictures, or can you send me a PM for my personal address?

Thank you very much,

Carlos
