Help! Me carbon frame has lost bonding '92 Trek 8900

Perhaps, you have to clean the parts before gluing.
I remember that Trek heated the frame after glue…

Trek carbon 8900 frame failure UPDATE

Well the frame is a write off  But Trek made me an offer on a new bike that was too good to miss - this is despite the fact that i'm not the first owner and have no receipt. Lifetime guarantees are brilliant!

PS - i'm selling the PACE threaded forks on ebay now as i'm sure someone out there needs them and i can't use them now! They're good - were rebuilt by PACE in 2007.

Thanks for your help guys

ciba -giegy used to do an adhesive called DP201 that was good for bonding alli to most things , i re-bonded my brake post in a carbon swing arm on a super vee 15 years ago , its still bonded

it may be a banned substance these days , but might still be available

fixing the frame

The bit that has lost the bonding in lay-mans terms is the tube that the seat post goes into at the bottom where there is an ally hosing for the bottom bracket. Basically the bit of the bike that is under the most tension when pedalling. I think the problems i've got with attempting a fix is that; even with strong adhesive it's a struggle to expose enough ally to get a good surface area for it to bond together & that someone has suggested that trek heated the frame up during bonding which makes sense.
