You need fluid like this to go in the forks:

Ah, now you have also stripped the pumping rod down too. I never went that far as it isnt really necessary. However, on the phone here at the moment so cant number the photo, but will try to at lunch time if someone hasnt helped already.

Ah yeah i gutted the lot. What came out when i first got them was mud, not oil mud!

Argos Racing Cycle have resprayed them for me. I then got new bushing and seals off CRC. Avon Stainless for the new bolts.

Just stuck for what way to put it all on the dampning, the spring, plate, tube and cap im okay with

No, you can buy cheaper fork oil in motorbike shops but in my experience because the bottles are larger its more expensive if you're only doing one fork.

If you use engine oil in your forks it almost certainly won't work very well, or at least as well as it's meant to. Additionally there is a good change it will wreck parts inside the forks, especially the seals. Not worth it for £6 for the proper stuff.....

Some forks need a small amount of lubricating oil in them (I think Fox does this) and you can use engine oil, but only in a small amount - it doesn't go in the damping section, only to lubricate. In an open bath system like Marzocchi the fork damping oil also lubricates the fork internals.

Boy I love Marzocchi's! I have the same forks as you (98 Z3 Light).

So item number 3 on the photo, what way should it go, the inset section spring mounted into it or the other way

If your really stuck ,send them toi me and ill reassemble them for you
Admittedly,it looks like youve stripped them down more than was needed :?
