Help......I'm a devoted dirt bag!?!

After 100 posts (I need to get a life) I suddenly became a devoted dirt bag.

Anyone knows how this works? How can I get an upgrade? I liked being a dirt desciple a heck of a lot more than being a dirt bag no matter how devoted.

But seriously.....how does it work? What are the criteria for achieving the different titles? I have seen the following (from memory).

Newbee (I guess you only need 10 posts to get rid of this embarrassment)
Dirt Disciple (from 10-100 posts)
Devout Dirt Bag (Seriously?)
Retro Guru
Old School Hero
Old School Master (I think....)
...and probably more

Moderator is self explaining

....but how about the small icons like; Gold Trader, Retrobike Rider, Bin Monkey etc......what do you have to do to obtain such a title....

I really like to know... :D

You are probably right about that.....

.....but am I the only one who is curious about this? ....any earlier posts with an explenation?

I believe its a random forum generated thing - 88 posts, I think, gives you the UK bingo term of 'two fat ladies' and 180 posts refers to the Darts scene and you get 'one hundred and eeeeeeighyty! or some such.

It's based on your post count indeed.

As for the others :

gold trader : You can request that status if you have a feedback thread with 10 or more positive replies. Generally it lets people know you can be trusted.

Retrobike rider : You can get that status if you show up on one of the retrobike meets/events/rides

BotM winner, rBotM winner, 98+ BotM winner : for those who have won a "Bike of the Month" competition. Winners get selected for the BotY (Bike of the Year) competition, so the "BotY" badge is extremely hard to get.

PotM winner : Picture of the Month winner.

And then there's the custom titles. Those can be requested, but I'm not sure if the moderators will just hand them to everyone.

There may be titles I've missed, but it generally gives you an idea.

Post count is spot on. It changes up a kind of heirachy depending on your post count. As 'Mr SBike' says, you can request your own, but this is limited to people (I believe) who are regular riders/contributors or something more than just an occasional observer/poster. That said, I am sure that you could ask to be kept as 'Dirt Diciple' if you ask John.

As for Retrobike Rider, its as Raging_Bulls says, but you also need to have a picture of you an event as well to prove you did it.

I am still trying to conjour up something witty to put under my avatar, but fail miserably each time . RetroBike Failure perhaps? (especially as my 'retrobike' is just a frame with all modern hanging of it, as good a fail as it gets!!

Thanks a lot. That clears it up a bit....

I guess it's time for me to actually build my bikes now in order to enter any BotM competition. But since I only have Kleins so far I guess my winning chances are low. To me it looks like you need something really special to win. :-)

Anyway, thank you so much for a serious answer. I'm sure there are others in here also who are curious about this.
