Help identifying Shimano brakes...

Hi there folks,

I could do with some new brake hoods for some Shimano brakes but am having a few problems sourcing them. One thing holding me back is not being able to actually ask for what I want! Here is a couple of piccies from when I was stem swapping at the w/e:

I found some pristine replacements that looked right but the top bit was too pointy and the hood just wouldn't sit nicely on the brake levers. The current hoods are very soft rubber, almost clammy.

Not sure of the age of the brakes I'm afraid, possibly 1989 like the bike but my late FIL did like to mix and match (the bike has bits from Shimano, Stronglight, Campag and Suntour) but it still looks great and works a treat :)

Actually, using your tip I just found a good site showing several options:

I reckon my set are the Super SLRs because the SLRs have slightly different levers and the same set of dimpled hoods that I found (which were not quite right). Now, finding some spare hoods might a bit longer but at least I know what I am looking for.

or do a visual search at Velobase...

Thanks chaps. The ebay ones do look an exact match...but I would have to change the saddle and bar tape to match :) .

Here's a piccie of the bike at the mo.

That velobase looks great.

I couldn't find any numbers stamped on my set like on the 1051 but I am fairly sure they are BL-1055 which don't have any numbers stamped either on the velobase piccies (and makes me more certain that is the right model).
