Concorde Aquila Racing Cycle
A top quality race frame built with Columbus SL tubing by the famed Billato/Ciocc craftsmen in Italy. Late 1980s.
This one has internal cable routing for the brake and rear gear cables and is built from ultra-light Columbus SL tubing with chromed Campag dropouts and has beautiful unmarked chrome forks.
The frame and forks feature pantographed Concorde symbols and there's a cutout 'club' symbol beneath the bottom bracket plus a race number boss beneath the top tube.
Frame is straight, with no dents, just one or two very minor age-related marks. It's probably been refinished at some point in it's life as it would originally have been in PDM team colours, but I may be wrong.
The componentry is a carefully selected mix of quality 80s and 90s parts.
Campagnolo brakes, gear levers and front mech
Cinelli 1A stem with Cinelli Campione del Mondo bars, cotton bar tape
Shimano rear mech and triple chainset (or a Campag double is available if preferred).
Gipiemme Sprint hubs (very nice Campag Record copies)
Wolber GTX2 hard-anodised clincher rims, stainless butted spokes and classic-look tyres.
Concor Light titanium-rail saddle on a lovely Shimano 600 Aero seatpost.
Stronglight aluminium headset
It's a lively and very light bike that rides like a dream and looks classy.
All in excellent condition.
I've owned this bike for ten years but now reducing my collection. Hetchins, Bates and Gillott bikes to be listed soon.
Bike is in the Northeast but could be collected from South Buckinghamshire by arrangement.
Asking £775.
