And its a big problem :(

I got this 183 adaptor off one of the Ebay bike stores.Advertised as being Avid made but will fit any other brake-hope,etc etc

My fork is post mount@160mm and to put on a 185 i would need the appropriate adaptor. This i bought, duly arrived but when i went to fit it i discovered the problem.
No matter what i do or how i fit it,one side sits about 6mm higher than the other, even orientating the mount[which is wrong] makes no difference.
I tried to put each in a little bit at a time but with both fully done up one bolt sits at an alarming angle :?
LBS mechanic was pretty horrified to see how it fits and it is fortunate im not ham fisted so didnt fully tighten or use the front brake till id had the 2nd opinion.
It appears that if you use an avid mount where the calliper bolt also holds the adaptor[as opposed to one where it first bolts to the fork mount, then with 2 more bolts, attaches to the calliper.
Im guessing that its MUST be used with avids 3d mounting washers :?

The worrying thought is that if i didnt know better i could have cranked the bolts tight then wrecked the fork mount under heavy braking.
Im being as pleasant as a chap who nearly wrecked his new fork due to misleading advertising can be

Pics-
Mount arrow goes in the direction of the rotor[ive tried it upsidedown but its the same result]
The end with the allenkey in it, is fully tightened.Would you want to try to do up the other side with a gap like that

Something doesn't look right, the fork post mounts are of unequal length yet the caliper is flush, just how does it fit straight onto the fork?
Then the adapter has a wide mount/leg and a short, but if the arrow pointed down the adapter would curve up and snag the caliper?

Sorry no help, but it sure looks spazzed.

Looks to me like you need the V-brake pad spacers as used on Avid disc brakes.

This is exactly what im thinking :?
Anyone not knowing any better might have just torqued the bolts up :? I just hope the company sees the problem and refunds me and doesnt sell any more without a disclaimer :?

Looks like you need the cup washers.
The top pic shows the adapter with the wide end on the long fork post mount which is the top one.
The bottom pic shows the adapter with the wide end on the short fork post mount which is the top one.

Surely the top pic has crooked bolts too, the bottom pic keeps the caliper parallel.
