HI Folks.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place, just getting a first post in.

I have been road biking for a long time but we now live in London and the traffic and road surfaces leave a lot to be desired so I am going to go for some old fashioned, softer riding. I never joined my son, when he was living at home, riding in the woods on his bike but wish I had now. He doesn't live far away so when I get myself a bike I will join him and try and get the missus along too.

I always have a hankering after older things and think the quality of the 90's Marins will fit the bill for me so I am looking around. I will use it on the road so no suspension will be ok to begin with. This has been a very informative site and forum so I shall keep following.

I'm sure you'll find what you're after

... and within about three weeks you'll have about fifteen different grades of sandpaper and wire wool to hand wherever you go and be mirror polishing everything in sight.... lord help me... all I wanted to do was get some new forks for my Zaskar... :D Good luck with the Marin though - loads of incredibly nice and informative people here, so I'd def. recommend sticking around! :)

Hi Rod,

Welcome to the fray, it's great fun in here. Just lock up your wallet otherwise it will end up like mine, i.e empty apart from a maxed-out credit card...

You will have some nice machinery to show for it though 8)

Thanks for all the good wishes and welcome. Cash warnings too!! I have had a credit crunch since I left school so I'm used to it.

welcome tot he site.

seems marin's are getting more popular of late. i have noticed prices on the up on ebay recently.
