Hello. Manc living in bulgaria. Hello and help

Cempa raiment

Retro Newbie
Hi, fairly new here. Not been into mountain biking since about 98 when I had a got timberline (I know)
I now live in bulgaria and there’s many good trails here. So on Saturday I’m having a bike delivered. I’m not sure of the year/model, as is often the case in bulgaria, if anyone can help identify the frame.
It has a rockshox SID team fork (black box) and (I think) Altus gearing.
It’s hard getting a good answer as the seller only speaks Bulgarian and the answer is in Cyrillic and not translating too well.
He says it’s fully working, with disc brakes on the front.
It has a 24” wheel on the back.
Aluminium frame, it looks like ko a but could be wrong.
I think could be a good fram as I know SIDS weren’t cheap.
I think it’s an xc or free ride bike but any help would be amazing. Thanks

Hi, interesting name.

The frame looks generic and could be anything, suprised you cant get an answer from the seller though. Easy enough to ask him to clarify the make before you buy, plenty of good converters.

If you wait until you have it and post some decent pics and in the mtb section instead of the road it may be easier to narrow it down.

Picking it up tomorrow. Translators really aren’t much good at all when going from Cyrillic. He said the SIDS (and bike) are fully working so the cost is worth just for them. I’ll try get more info tomorrow, thanks for your reply @MK one

Hi, interesting name.

Ditto.... I’ve heard the Old English Cempa rīdend meaning Champion rider, but I have no idea what raiment means….

Come on Champ, let us in on the secret

Close. Especially with old English.
Cempa is champion/winner/best in old English.
Raiment is olde English too, meaning clothing.
Both words came from Beowulf, the poem
We have our own Studio in bulgaria where I produce my own clothing and work for others who want to start a clothing brand, ie logo, screenprinting, HTV, providing clothing blanks etc (although they come mainly from England)
My missus is an artist so we converted one of our barns, got our equipment etc in there and work from there. In the other barn I’ve a punchbag, speedball and tomorrow this bike.
