Headshok I did it

Thanks for the info. I'll just continue to avoid old cannondales. Life's to short for all of that. ;-)

No need. My delta V is 24 years old and the headshok is still smooth as. Picked it up 4 years ago with a knackered elastomer, but Cannondale still make hybrid spring/elastomers for it. OCP is right (for once, eh John) that the tools tend to be the sticking point. Luckily Edinburgh bike coop in Edinburgh still have the tools from when they were service agents and one of the long standing staff members is really helpful. Fitted my spring for free. Finally found the tool I needed for my collection but had to pay through the nose for it.
One of our mates describes Cannondale as "the Apple of bike companies". Great products but you have to buy into them fully to get the best out of them.

Re:

clubby, what was the tool you bought? As you said, the cost of the tools is eye-watering  . Much like a kick in the 'nads.

Some Cannondale parts suppliers,

I've bought stuff off both Qwerty, although they tend to be "Out of Stock" a lot and Tritoncycles, bought a Super Castle tool that is supposed to do the cartridges in all Leftys and Headshoks off Triton but one of Headshoks and one of Leftys it didn't work with. It is described by other sellers in same way, obviously info given to them by the manufacturers. The Dr Cannondale site requires a login to get the English version but that's no bother at all. Not bought anything off there as the postage is kinda high but it is good to see what is available parts wise and you can see the different tools too.

This site is good for info on Cannondales and for identifying Headshoks and Leftys.

The 2 pin castle tool, only used on early forks.

Ah, right, think I knew that already. Was just asking as I have 2 Castle tools, the Super dooper one that's supposed to fit all and the 2 piece one for Leftys that I got for the sum of £8.odds in one of Edinburgh Co-op sales.
Qwerty want £79 for it when they have it in stock, https://qwertycycles.co.uk/products/can ... tool-kt004
They also sell, again when in stock, the Super Castle tool for £58, https://qwertycycles.co.uk/products/can ... id-kit-wht
Which I got online, maybe eBay or Triton possibly, for £24.99.
