Headset for Orange C-16R

Hello - complete novice here.

I ride a very nice Orange C-16R which I've had since new in about 1994. It needs a new headset , and having waited about 2 months for my local bike shop to get one in on order, I've decided to look for one myself. Except I have no idea what I'm doing. Can anyone recommend a good headset for this bike?

You need a 1", but depends whether you are using a threaded steerer and quill stem, or unthreaded fork steerer and ahead stem.

So you need a 1" threaded headset.
Could put a wanted on here, or they do come up on ebay from time to time.

If you find they are out of stock, or difficult to get hold of then let me know. I do have an unused boxed 1" Tange Levin headset (threaded) spare, but would prefer to keep in my spares box just in case. If you're desperate though, you can have it for same price as on the sjs site.

LBS should have a Raleigh trade catalog which will have 1" headsets in for around £12.99 upwards. most on-line stores have them too.

Picked up a nice Ritchey 1" threaded from Chain Reaction for £10 and they still have them,
