Headset for old GT forks

Any idea what headset would work with these old 1 1/8 GT forks. The 30mm crown race I have does not fit.

The crown race is pictured on the fork there -
this is part of the headset, so when fitting a new one it needs to come off and be disposed of.
It's covering the crown race seat, which is 30mm.

Turn the fork upside down on a hard surface like cement with a piece of wood between the cement and the steerer tube (to avoid damaging the cement). Place a flathead screwdriver on the bottom of the race (now facing up). Then strike the handle of the screwdriver with a hammer. Repeat until the race is off. The new 1&1/8 headset will come with a new race that is not pitted and smooth. Get to that point and I can help you with installing the new race.

Thanks for the advice, just watched a YouTube video where the guy hammers small blades between race and steerer tube. The base of the steerer tube is making access difficult, but I'll persevere. One bike shop I went to a while back with a similar issue, said he would not damage his tools on cheap forks.

Just a two minute job when I worked out where to seperate to race from the forks. I am ready to install a new race with my pvc pipe.
